HB 1769    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER 
        LICENSING                                  TRN,JHA,FIN
        Allows a driver with a driver's license that expires
        after 1/1/02, to obtain a replacement license that
        does not contain the driver's social security number
        on the driver's license, without additional charge if
        application is made between 1/1/01 to 12/31/01.

HB 2907    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES                     TRN,CPC
        Requires all tow trucks to have special license plates
        to ensure that they meet the same standards for
        insurance and registration as commercial fleet
        vehicles.

HB 2906    RELATING TO TOWING COMPANIES                   TRN,CPC
        Requires all towing companies, not only the ones being
        called to tow a vehicle, to have sign on vehicle doors
        with the name and telephone number of the towing
        business etc.


 
 
 
 
 
 
HB 2880    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE REVERSE WARNING 
        SYSTEM                                     TRN,EEP,JHA
        Enables vehicle backup warning beepers to be turned
        off between 12:00 midnight and 5:30 a.m.  Requires
        bright flashing lights when reversing, if beeper is
        turned off.

HB 2905    RELATING TO SPEEDING                           TRN,JHA
        Permits police to arrest persons speeding in excess of
        40 miles of the posted speed limit.

HB 2796    RELATING TO VEHICLE HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION 
        FEE                                            TRN,FIN
        Deletes "motor" from vehicles required to pay highway
        beautification fee with each certificate of
        registration so that the beautification fee would be
        required of all registered vehicles.

HB 2721    RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION                     TRN,FIN
        Ensuring that state road and bridge projects
        adequately meet our transportation needs, exist in
        harmony with their surroundings, and add lasting value
        to the communities they serve.

HB 2357    RELATING TO HARBORS                            TRN,FIN
        Authorizes lessees of special facility leases let by
        the department of transportation for maritime
        operations to sublet the lease to another.

HB 2212    RELATING TO HARBORS                            TRN,FIN
        Transfers certain PSC taxes to the harbor special fund
        for the improvement of cruise ship facilities.
